Ten consecutive days of “home, sweet, home” starts today.
The Indianapolis Home Show returns to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for another glorious run. The first home show appeared here in 1922, and interest has never waned since.
What’s not to like? Renew/refresh/restore is the theme as the general public can peruse the huge exhibit space for new ideas and deals in remodeling, decor and home improvement. Innovative products are down every aisle and around every corner. With hundreds of experts, the show offers practical advice and also celebrity appearances.
The biggest name this year is Ty Pennington of “Trading Spaces” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” fame. He’ll be there at 11 a.m. Jan. 31. This fall, he will host new TNT series “On the Menu” with legendary chef Emeril Lagasse.
The 2015 Centerpiece Home comes from Fischer Homes. At more than 4,000 square feet (excluding basement), the home features four bedrooms and 3.5 baths and showcases a Coastal Classic elevation. This new “Paxton” design features an East Coast feel with each type of living space (entertainment, sleeping and recreation) on its own floor.
Prominent exhibitors will showcase the latest home and garden products. Learn more about flooring, landscaping, antiques, major appliances, art, siding and roofing, windows, home furnishings, security systems, garage doors, decks, cabinets, antiques and — believe it or not — much more.
