‘Tomb Raider’ features an array of options

How did Lara Croft become a global hero? The answer lies in “Tomb Raider” (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment), which stars Alicia Vikander as the 21-year-old extremely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished seven years previous. She barely can make rent in the chaotic streets of East London,  but refuses to take control of her father’s global empire.

Guest stars include Ed Asner and Ted Knight, to be joined a few years later in the “Mary Tyler Moore Show.” Bonus features include commentary on select episodes, an interview with Thinnes and more.

“The Last Ship: Season 4” (TNT), out now on Blu-ray and DVD, contains all 10 episodes from the latest season of the addictive drama that follows the fight to save mankind aboard a Navy destroyer. The cast includes Dama Baldwin, Eric Dane and Bridget Regan. Bonus features includes those that show how parts of the drama follow Homer’s “The Odyssey.”

“Altered Perception” (Synkronized) is a psychological thriller about a designer drug that supposedly cures socio-political tensions, but the drug causes people to doubt their own memory, perceptions and sanity.

“The Steam Engines of Oz” (Cinedigm) is a family friendly adaptation based on the graphic novel of the same name. The animated adventure includes a steampunk twist Characters are voiced by William Shatner, Julianne Hough and Ron Perlman.
