‘Krypton: Season 1’ follows cryptic premise

As the second season begins on SYFY, “Krypton: The Complete First Season” (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment) makes its way to Blu-ray and DVD.

Krypton

The premise of the show is ingenious: What if Superman never existed? “Krypton” is set two generations before the destruction of Superman’s home planet.

The show follows Superman’s grandfather, who is faced with a choice of either saving his home planet or letting it be destroyed to ensure the fate of his future grandson. An earthy time-traveler enters the picture, and exciting adventures await.

The 10 episodes are accentuated by bonus features of a gag reel, two featurettes, a 2017 Comic Con panel, and deleted scenes.

“Then Came You” (Shout! Studios) is a sweet, uplifting, coming-of-age story that reminds us that it’s not how long we live but how we live the life we have that matters. A spunky teenage girl with a terminal illness befriends a timid 19-year-old , who helps her carry out her eccentric bucket list before she dies. Along the way, he learns to confront and conquer his own fears, including falling in love with a beautiful, but seemingly untouchable, girl named Izzy.
