Crown Towers Sydney stands tall above the hotel competition

I just discovered the crown jewel hotel in all of Australia: the Crown Towers Sydney.

This 75-story wonder must be seen to be believed.

The luxury hotel stands as not only the tallest building in Sydney, but it makes a bold statement from every angle both outside and inside. Additionally, with its location on Darling Harbour, it makes an ideal stay for passengers of ocean cruises originating or ending in Sydney.

The striking exterior features gleaming glass panels that elegantly curve upward from a three-petal base. Located in an ultra-safe part of the city, the hotel is near a walking/biking path along the harbour. It’s not unusual for passers-by to strain their necks looking up at the wondrous hotel exterior.

But Crown Towers Sydney isn’t just a magnificent sight. It’s a magnificent stay.

The sleek first-floor interior features an exquisite lobby and restaurants, but the real star is what rises above: rooms with killer views of a beloved city.

The building’s curvature enables hotel guests to enjoy perfectly framed views of Sydney’s skyline. Whether it’s the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, boats on Darling Harbour, or other aesthetically pleasing buildings and natural sights, breathtaking views can be seen from every room.

Sophisticated, modern décor envelops each room with distinction. Larger rooms feature marble bathrooms with one-way mirrored shower doors, heated toilets, and built-in televisions; lush sitting areas with richly upholstered furniture; dining table with personal bar and refrigerator; in-room tablets with connectivity to lights, air conditioning, and blinds on the floor-to-ceiling windows; and an open-air terrace.

The hotel’s fifth floor features a cascading network of expansive infinity pools with horizon overflows and amazing views of Darling Harbour. Secluded cabanas are available.

These amenities are the definition of five stars, but wait, there’s more. The hotel restaurants are sublime. The Icebergs Harbour Bar offers a coastal Euro-leaning menu (go for the Wagyu steak) and classic drinks.

But the crème de la crème is the breakfast buffet at the hotel’s Epicurean. This by far was the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot. The open-kitchen Epicurean has it all: a literal wall of fruit and local produce, cold seafood counter, Western/Asian/Italian/salad food stations with dozens of succulent choices, crepes, waffles, French toast, croissants, decadent dessert bar, a variety of ice cream flavors, a chocolate fountain with strawberries and brownie bites, and so much more.

We felt so spoiled at Crown Towers Sydney that we didn’t want to leave the hotel to go on the cruise. But, alas, reality kicked in, and we packed our bags. We easily walked our luggage to the Circular Quay area, which features docked cruise ships, the Sydney Opera House, and the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

A trip to Sydney can be memorable, but – when paired with a stay at the Crown Towers Sydney – it becomes unforgettable.
