Jim Belushi isn’t scheduled to be part of the “Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Show” on Feb. 15, but his absence won’t matter to the lucky audience members who saw the comedian live Sunday night.
Belushi, a “SNL” alumnus and younger brother of late, and famous, “SNL” original cast member John Belushi, wowed the crowd at the Palladium at the Center for Performing Arts in Carmel. Belushi put on a stirring improvised comedy show that also spotlighted members of the Chicago Board of Comedy.
Remember, Belushi is also an alumnus of Chicago’s famous comedy improvisation troupe Second City.
Belushi’s sketch comedy show was at its best when he interacted with Chicago Board of Comedy member Larry Joe Campbell. The actor-comedian was a mainstay on Belushi’s TV show “According to Jim,” and now they are reunited on stage. Other Chicago Board of Comedy personnel created unforgettable laughs, as well, making this a memorable evening for all.
The audience made suggestions to begin many scenes, which were taken to heart and earned the cast rousing rounds of applause.
