‘Your Honor’ hits all the right notes

What happens when a teenager is involved in a hit-and-run accident and the victim is the son of a crime boss? Lots of drama, as proved by the three-disc “Your Honor.”

Your Honor

The CBS/Paramount DVD features all 10 episodes of this Showtime show, which can now be enjoyed by all. Judge Michael Desiato (played by the awesome Bryan Cranston) is thrust into a world of high-stakes lies, deceit, and damned-if-you-do/don’t choices after his son (Hunter Doohan) crashes into a mobster’s son and leaves the scene.

Michael must deal with the fallout of the crime boss (played by Michael Stuhlbarg) and his nasty wife (played by Hope Davis).

Never-before-seen deleted scenes highlight the special features.

Other titles

“Resurrection” (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment) is just as it sounds, a biblical epic from the same team that brought us the miniseries “The Bible.” Afraid for their lives after the crucifixion of their friend, Jesus’ friends find new hope with his resurrection. Joanne Whalley and Gretta Scacchi star.

“Salvador Dali: In Search of Immortality” (Film Movement) is an enchanting documentary on the famed artist.  The three-part film closely examines the surrealist, starting in 1929, and ending in 1989. Just when you thought you knew all about Dali comes this DVD. Special attention is paid toward his muse and collaborator, Gala.

“Beate” (Corinth Films) is an Italian gem (with English subtitles), a comedy about lingerie factory workers about to be fired who start their own garment line. They align with nuns who are in danger of being transferred because they don’t have the funds to secure a convent. Together, they make an artisanal line of sexy embroidered lingerie.

“Tina Barney: Social Studies” (IndiePix Classics) documents the American art photographer and her creative/technical processes. The result is far from technical. Rather, it’s an intimate, even amusing, portrait of a fascinating woman.
