Santorini Greek Kitchen (1417 Prospect St., Indianapolis) served traditional Greek food that tempts customers from appetizer to dessert.
The golden-baked, flaky phyllo dough encased our tiropita, which was full of creamed feta. A Greek side salad, green beans, rice pilaf, Greek potatoes and bread were fine accompaniments.
Another favorite main dish is the goat-cheese dish saganaki, finished tableside and triumphantly honored with an enthusiastic “opa!” from our friendly server.
Appetizers of smooth, creamy hummus (the best around) and chunky baba ganoush featured warm pita bread (also the best around) with a pillowy interior.
Ready for one more “best around”? That would be the sweet custard galaktabouriko. At Santorini, this is a most memorable ending with a thin, crackling phyllo dough layer that accentuated the perfect custard.
